Sens. Cruz, Crapo Introduce Legislation to Preserve Consumer Vehicle Choice

WASHINGTON, D.C.– U.S. Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Chairman of the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, and Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), Chairman of Senate Finance Committee, this week reintroduced theChoice in Automobile Retail SalesAct, legislation that would repeal the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) tailpipe emissions rule finalized under the Biden-Harris Administration. The CARS Act would prevent future tailpipe regulations from limiting the availability of new motor vehicles based on engine type.Sen. Cruz said,“The Biden Administration waged war on American consumers and the energy industry relentlessly for four years. The Choice in Automobile Retail Sales is commonsense legislation that course-corrects a radical, anti-energy policy and I am proud to be a co-sponsor.”
