WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05) issued the below statement on the unilateral military action taken by the Trump administration. "Today, President Donald Trump ordered strikes on three nuclear sites in Iran. This is an active and evolving situation, and the full implications of these strikes have yet to be assessed. "Unilateral military action without congressional authorization is a violation of the Constitution and exceedingly dangerous. Furthermore, the intelligence assessments of the situation have been conflicting. Congress must assert our foundational authority immediately to ensure Americans are not dragged into an endless war in the Middle East." ###
