State Senator César J. Blanco Hosts State Resource Fair
in Town of Pecos City
Pecos, Texas – On Saturday, April 28th, Senator César J. Blanco hosted a State Resource Fair in
the Town of Pecos City to bring essential state services directly to rural communities, bridging
the gap between West Texas and the state government. State agencies in attendance included the
Texas Health and Human Services Commission, Veterans Commission, Department of Public
Safety, Department of State Health Services, and more.
The fair offered constituents the opportunity to engage directly with representatives from key
state agencies. Attendees were able to speak one-on-one with eligibility specialists, receive
personalized guidance on available programs, and get assistance navigating the application
process for critical services — including health and human services, veterans’ benefits, driver
services, small business support, licensing, and more
Senator Blanco issued the following statement:
"For far too long, rural families have felt disconnected from the resources and opportunities
available to their urban counterparts. Having access to essential services is a fundamental right
that every Texan deserves, no matter their zip code.
“State government should be accessible, responsive, and rooted in the needs of our communities.
This fair was about empowering our community with the tools and resources they need to thrive
— all in one place. It was a great opportunity for constituents to get answers, find support, and
make real connections with the agencies that serve them.
“We are bringing access to our state government for the people of Far West Texas. Whether it's
helping families access Medicaid or SNAP benefits, renew their driver’s licenses or IDs, get free
vaccinations, learn about small business resources, or explore job and licensing opportunities —
this fair helps connect our community with the services they need.”
