Washington, D.C. — Florida Congressman Daniel Webster, R-Clermont, released the following statement on the U.S. Supreme Court’s decisive opinion that federal judges issuing broad national injunctions is outside their scope of authority under the U.S. Constitution and federal law. “This is a huge win for the Constitution and the separation of powers! Since President Trump took office, we have seen countless instances of individual district courts acting beyond their constitutional authority. SCOTUS’s decision makes it clear that these district court judges acted unlawfully, and they should have known better. Today’s decision removes any doubt that executive power is held by the President of the United States, not unelected district judges.” ###
