Image Sincerely, Mark DeSaulnier Member of Congress ON THE HOUSE FLOOR Congressman DeSaulnier Denounces Assault on Special Education Recently, the U.S. Department of Education announced that it will transfer special education programs to the Department of Health and Human Services, led by Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a dangerous and incompetent figure. Congressman DeSaulnier recently spoke against this move on the House Floor, highlighting how it will harm the programs and protections that students with disabilities rely on. Mark also discussed Secretary Kennedy's troubling and ignorant views on disabilities and how he is woefully unqualified to oversee programs supporting more than 8 million students and their families. To see his remarks, click here or on the image below. ​​​​​​​Additionally, Congressman DeSaulnier introduced an amendment to prohibit the transfer of the special education and civil rights divisions of the Department of Education to any other federal department or agency in an effort to use every legislative tool at his disposal to protect American students. Image CONGRESSIONAL APP CHALLENGE Congressman DeSaulnier is again hosting the Congressional App Challenge (CAC), a competition for middle and high school students to hone their coding skills by designing original software applications.
