Small Business Administration Territories Office Bill

May 1, 2026 Newsletters I was proud to introduce H.R. 8534 this week with Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez, Ranking Member of the Small Business Committee, that would establish an Office of Territorial Affairs at the Small Business Administration. The Office would help formulate policy within the SBA on topics like capital access and disaster assistance to address the needs of small businesses in the territories, serve as a liaison for small businesses in the territories between the Administration and federal programs, review the effectiveness of SBA programs in reaching small businesses in the territories, and host informational sessions to educate small businesses in the territories on the resources available to them. I’m committed to making sure the SBA is responsive to the needs of small businesses in the CNMI and other territories, and I’m excited to see how this bill progresses.
