Senator Kim Speaks with Qatari Ambassador about Immediately Securing Edan Alexander’s Release
WASHINGTON D.C.–Senator Andy Kimspoke with Qatari Ambassador Meshal Bin Hamad al-Thani on Monday, May 5 about ongoing efforts to secure the release of Edan Alexander and other hostages from Gaza.
The Senator expressed appreciation for the role Qatar has played, alongside Egypt and the United States, to find a path for Edan’s release, and underscored bipartisan support in doing so. They discussed the status of negotiations, as well as the importance of efforts to secure a ceasefire and resume humanitarian aid delivery into Gaza.
Senator Kim noted that President Trump’s upcoming trip to the region is an important opportunity to secure a deal that brings Edan home.
