Senator César J. Blanco Leads Community Canned Food Drive
to Support El Paso Families
El Paso, Texas – Senator César J. Blanco, in partnership with The El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food
Bank, Eastwood Heights, Scotsdale, and East Point Elementary, successfully hosted a canned food
drive to support families experiencing food insecurity across El Paso.
Thanks to the generosity of the El Paso community, the drive collected 3,415 pounds of canned goods
that will be distributed to local families in need. The effort brought together students, parents,
educators, and community members united by a shared commitment to ensuring that neighbors
throughout the region have access to nutritious food.
Senator Blanco issued the following statement:
"Far too many families in our community are facing food insecurity, and this is a challenge we can,
and must, address together. A single can or bag of groceries may not seem like much, but every
donation adds up and makes a real difference for a family in need.
When we come together to support one another, we remind our neighbors that they are seen,
supported, and not alone. This food drive shows the power of community and what we can accomplish
when we look out for each other.
I’m incredibly grateful to The El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank and the participating schools
for their leadership and continued commitment to serving families across our region.
