Senator César Blanco Hosts Canned Food Drive in Support of El
Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank
El Paso, Texas – Senator César J. Blanco is proud to announce the conclusion of his Canned
Food Drive to benefit the El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank. Thanks to the generosity and
enthusiasm of the community, and a friendly competition between Scotsdale Elementary and
Eastwood Heights Elementary, the drive collected a total of 3,336 cans to help families in need.
Senator Blanco issued the following statement:
“Food insecurity continues to affect many in our community, as rising grocery costs and
economic challenges make it increasingly difficult for families to put food on the table. With
food banks facing shortages after the holidays, we took this opportunity to come together and
replenish their supplies to support families in need. Hunger knows no boundaries, and every
donation will play a vital role in feeding a neighbor in need.
“A heartfelt thank you to El Pasoans Fighting Hunger Food Bank for their tireless efforts and
dedication to helping the hunger crisis in our region. I also want to extend my deepest gratitude
to Scotsdale Elementary and Eastwood Heights Elementary for their incredible participation and
generosity. Their contributions made a significant impact, and I look forward to continuing our
work together to ensure families can keep food on the table.”
