Carter urges DOJ to investigate Soros role in left-wing violence

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) today sent a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi calling for an investigation into the role that groups backed by George Soros, such as the Open Society Foundations, have played in funding left-wing political violence. The letter cites a growing trend of left-wing violence, including the recent politically-motivated assassination of Charlie Kirk. In the letter, Carter writes : “There is growing concern, based on credible reporting, that George Soros’ Open Society Foundations have played a significant role in funding organizations associated with promoting political extremism and engage in or endorse actions that meet the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s definition of domestic terrorism.” Carter continues : “The funding of organizations that engage in, support, or incite political violence must not be tolerated. I urge the Department of Justice to launch an immediate and comprehensive investigation into George Soros, the Open Society Foundations and their affiliates to determine whether they are in violation of any federal laws related to domestic terrorism, material support for violence, or other illegal activities targeting Americans based on political beliefs.” Read the full letter here . ###
