Sánchez on ICE’s violent detention of SEIU California President David Huerta

Sánchez (D-Calif.) issued the following statement after ICE detained and injured David Huerta, president of SEIU California and SEIU-United Service Workers West, while he exercised his First Amendment rights: “Violently detaining and injuring a labor leader for exercising his constitutional rights is an attack not just on him, but on every worker and immigrant. “This wasn’t about law enforcement. It was political violence meant to intimidate anyone who dares to speak out against ICE’s Gestapo tactics.
