Neal (D-MA) blasted Trump’s latest attack on the U.S. economy with his illegal firing of Federal Reserve Governor Dr. Lisa Cook: “President Trump’s illegal removal of Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook is economic assault. His reckless interference has rattled markets overnight—tanking the dollar, sending futures down, and endangering the people’s hard-earned savings. Instead of taking responsibility for his own economic failures, he’s manufacturing a villain to blame. As seen around the world, politicizing the central bank means rampant inflation, higher mortgage rates, unstable retirement accounts, and more uncertainty for the people.
