Carter, Griffith release statement on GAO’s Vision Benefit Managers Report

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Reps. Earl L. “Buddy” Carter (R-GA) and Morgan Griffith (R-VA) today released the following statement regarding a forthcoming Government Accountability Office (GAO) report on Vision Benefit Managers (VBMs): “We’re happy to hear GAO is nearing completion of its work detailing the growing abuses of Vision Benefit Managers. Since GAO was first tasked with this project by Chairman Guthrie nearly two years ago, VBMs’ anti-patient, and anti-competitive tactics have only increased and their stranglehold on consumers and communities has continued to grow. We expect this report will shine a light on those abuses, and we look forward to a swift conclusion to the report.” ###
