Congressman Flood: America Doesn’t Need More Foreign Beef

Image October 22, 2025 Press Release LINCOLN, NEBRASKA – Today, U.S. Congressman Mike Flood issued a statement following news that the Trump administration planned to quadruple Argentine beef imports to the United States. “America produces the highest-quality, safest beef in the world. The USDA’s plan to invest in independent domestic production capacity for beef processing would strengthen both food and national security, but the administration’s push to import foreign beef from Argentina would undermine domestic producers. Argentine beef doesn’t hold a candle to what our families produce. The overall goal of keeping Argentina from falling into the arms of China is really important, but we can do this without hurting America’s cattle producers.
