Hawley Introduces Legislation to Reinstate Safety Regulations on Chemical Abortion Drug Mifepristone

Today, U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.)introducedtheRestoring Safeguards for Dangerous Abortion Drugs Actto reinstate safety regulations on the chemical abortion drug mifepristone. The legislation comes after a recent studyrevealed1 in 10 women who take the drug experience adverse health effects.
“I’m introducing theRestoring Safeguards for Dangerous Abortion Drugs Actafter a bombshell study revealed the truth about mifepristone: it’s dangerous,”said Senator Hawley.“The data shows 1 in 10 women who take mifepristone experience adverse health effects, like going to the ER or suffering from sepsis. The FDA needs to act to protect women now.”
