Sen. Rick Scott Introduces Keep China Out of Solar Energy Act to Stop Federal Funding of Forced Labor
December 4, 2025
WASHINGTON, D.C.
– Today, Senator Rick Scott announced the reintroduction of his
Keep China Out of Solar Energy Act
to prohibit the federal government from buying solar panels manufactured or assembled in Communist China. This comes as
reports
show several solar companies maintain links to Communist China while having access to U.S. tax dollars. Senator Josh Hawley has cosponsored the legislation in the Senate. Congressman Carlos Giménez is leading companion legislation in the House of Representatives.
Senator Rick Scott
said, “Americans’ taxpayer dollars should always prioritize American jobs and American manufacturing – not support Communist China and its use of forced or slave labor while threatening our national security. Communist China has exploited every single loophole possible to gain footholds in our nation’s industries and undermine us. We must take action. My
Keep China Out of Solar Energy Act
, which prohibits federal dollars from buying solar panels made or assembled in Communist China, sends a clear message that the United States will not allow tax dollars to support an adversary at the expense of Americans.”
Congressman Carlos Giménez
said, “Communist China is at America’s 20-yard line, and we must stay on the cutting-edge of confronting the CCP’s reach across all industries. The
Keep China Out of Solar Energy Act
will prohibit federal agencies from purchasing solar panels manufactured or assembled in Communist China and move us toward true American independence from the murderous regime in Beijing.”
