Rosen Meets with Nominee for Administrator of the Small Business Administration Kelly Loeffler

WASHINGTON, DC– Last week, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV), a member of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, met with former Senator Kelly Loeffler, President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for Administrator of the Small Business Administration. During their conversation, Senator Rosen highlighted her ongoing efforts to support Nevada’s small businesses and tourism industry. She also asked the nominee to work with her to cut red tape and continue delivering federal resources to local businesses and entrepreneurs.
“I met with former Senator Kelly Loeffler today to discuss her nomination and her goals to promote small business entrepreneurship in Nevada and nationwide,”said Senator Rosen.“Coming from a state where 99 percent of businesses are small, I’m committed to ensuring that Nevada entrepreneurs have the federal support and resources they need. I look forward to hearing her responses during her confirmation hearing.”
As a member of the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Senator Rosen has worked to bolster Nevada’s small businesses. Every year, she leads her Senate colleagues inpushingfor robust funding to support small businesses and cut burdensome red tape. Last year, she introduced theTax Relief for New Businesses Actto increase the startup tax deduction for entrepreneurs looking to start a small business and reduce barriers for startups. Senator Rosen has also introduced the bipartisanMinority Entrepreneurship Grant Program Actto establish a Minority Entrepreneurship Grant Program through the Small Business Administration (SBA) to award grants to Minority Serving Institutions to promote and increase opportunities for students to start their own businesses.
