Buchanan Applauds Historic U.S.-UK Trade Deal
Follows Buchanan’s Meeting with British Ambassador to the U.S. Peter Mandelson WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Vern Buchanan , Vice Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee and member of the Trade Subcommittee , released the following statement following President Trump and United Kingdom Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s announcement of a historic bilateral U.S.-UK trade deal: “President Trump has once again delivered for the American people with a historic trade agreement that puts our workers and businesses first. This new deal with the United Kingdom dramatically expands access for American exports—especially agriculture—and levels the playing field for our manufacturers. “This deal is a major step forward in strengthening our long-standing relationship with the UK while advancing an America First trade agenda that supports jobs, security and prosperity here at home. I had the pleasure of discussing this shared vision for deeper economic ties with British Ambassador to the U.S. Peter Mandelson, and I’m pleased to see it now come to fruition. “I look forward to other nations coming to the table to finalize strong, fair trade deals that support long-term economic growth.” ### Related Posts Buchanan Leads Bipartisan Delegation to the EU, Applauds Trump’s Potential US-EU Trade Agreement Buchanan Applauds Termination of Unfair Mexico Tomato Trade Agreement ICYMI: Buchanan Calls for Action to Address U.S. Trade Deficits, Emphasizes Need for Fair Trade Deals
