REP. GRAY Statement on Federal Government Shutdown

October 1, 2025 Press Release WASHINGTON, DC — Rep. Adam Gray (CA-13) made the following statement after federal funding lapsed on September 30, shutting down the federal government. “I do not support a government shutdown. It’s bad for our nation, dangerous for our security, and devastating for our economy and Valley families. The only way forward is bipartisan compromise — not partisan threats or political games. “That’s why I’ve put forward a plan to keep the government open and protect Valley families from rising health care costs. Any deal must be built on both parties working together.” Rep. Gray's offices in Merced and Washington will remain open and staffed during a shutdown.
