<p style="line-height: 170%;"><strong>H.R. 5485 – Second Chance at Life Act of 2025</strong><br />
– Prohibits abortion providers from performing an abortion without first ensuring the patient understands it is possible to reverse the intended effects of the abortion if requested.<br />
– Discharge instructions provided to the patient after the first step of the chemical abortion must include this statement:<br />
– Recent developing research has indicated that mifepristone alone is not always effective in ending a pregnancy. It may be possible to avoid, cease, or even to reverse the intended effects of a mifepristone-induced chemical abortion if the second pill has not been taken. Please consult with a health care professional immediately.’<br />
– Exceptions are made if the patients’ health or life is in danger, should the abortion not be carried out.</p>
<p><strong>H.R. 5483 – the Chloe Cole Act</strong></p>
<p>– The legislation is named after Chloe Cole, who underwent a double mastectomy at 15 years old after being influenced by social media and leftist ideology. Chloe has detransition, and since dedicated her life to protecting children from harmful sex-change procedures.<br />
– This bill codifies Executive Order 14187 – Protecting Children From Chemical and Surgical Mutilation, issued by President Trump in January of 2025.<br />
– Prohibits physicians, clinics, and hospitals from participating in chemical or surgical mutilation of minors;<br />
– Defines sex as a biological reality<br />
– Establishes a private right of action, allowing victims and their families to seek civil damages against those who harmed them;<br />
– And extends the statute of limitations to 25 years from the age of 18, to ensure that survivors have ample time to pursue justice, even decades later.</p>
<p style="line-height: 170%;"><strong>H.Res. 864 – Honoring the Service and Sacrifice of America’s Veterans on Veterans Day, 2025</strong></p>
<p style="line-height: 170%;"><strong>H.R. 2814 – the Transportation Freedom Act<br />
</strong> – Establishes a single, national fuel economy standard.<br />
– Repeals the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA’s) mandate that the light duty car fleet be 56% EV by 2032.<br />
<strong><br />
H.R 2757 – the Medicare Audiology Access Improvement Act of 2025<br />
</strong> – Eliminates a regulatory burden in Medicare Part B by reclassifying audiologists as ‘practitioners’. – Currently, Medicare Part B patients must be referred to an audiologist by another doctor, which costs the patient and Medicare money in the form of redundant doctor’s visits.<br />
– Estimated to save $36 million over ten years in unnecessary copays and $108 million over ten years by eliminating duplicative services.</p>
<p style="line-height: 170%;"><strong>H.R. 5509 – the Safe Step Act<br />
</strong> – Step therapy, also called a “fail first” requirement, is a protocol by which a health insurer will deny coverage for a prescription or treatment until an alternative, insurer-preferred treatment, is first attempted.<br />
– These protocols often delay treatments for months while patients work their way through multiple insurer-required steps.<br />
– The bill amends the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) to require a group health plan provide an exception process for any medication step therapy protocol.<br />
– Congressman Loudermilk cosponsored identical legislation in the 118th Congress.<strong><br />
</strong></p>
<p style="line-height: 170%;"><strong>H.R. 5563 – the Developing Responsible Individuals for a Vibrant Economy (DRIVE) Safe Act<br />
</strong> – Makes changes to existing regulations preventing 18–20-year-old professional commercial drivers from operating in interstate (across state lines) commerce.<br />
– It also simplifies a federal pilot apprenticeship program that allows for an individual under the age of 21 who holds a CDL to operate a commercial motor vehicle across state lines once such apprentice completes the program.<br />
– Congressman Loudermilk cosponsored the DRIVE Safe Act in the 117th Congress.</p>
<p>H.R. 5800 – SAFE Drivers Act<br />
– Establishes a standardized English Language Proficiency (ELP) test to administered as part of the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) testing and issuance process—ensuring all CDL applicants demonstrate their ability to comprehend English.<br />
– The new ELP standards will be developed and approved by the Federal Motor Carrer Safety Agency (FMCSA).<br />
– Responsibility for administering the tests will fall to state departments of motor vehicles (DMVs) and driver’s license agencies (SDLAs).</p>
<p>H.R. 3699 – the Energy Choice Act<br />
– Prevents state and local governments from adopting or enforcing these laws, regulations, building codes, ordinance, or any similar policies that limit energy services based on the type of energy.<br />
– In addition to protecting individual choice, the bill will prevent disruptions to the energy supply chain by preventing states and localities from blocking energy sources that are acquired and trafficked via interstate commerce.</p>
<p style="line-height: 170%;"><strong>Letter to Commerce Secretary Lutnick regarding Chinese Inverters</strong><br />
Congressman Loudermilk cosigned a letter to Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, led by the Republican Study Committee’s House Energy Action Team (HEAT) and National Security Task Force, expressing concerns regarding the use of Chinese-manufactured solar batteries and inverters deployed across the nation. A Reuters investigation revealed that some of these components contained “undisclosed communication devices” capable of bypassing firewall protections and enabling remote malicious access to parts of the power grid. The letter requests the Department of Commerce restrict future importations of such equipment and inverters for critical U.S. infrastructure. A copy of the letter is attached to this email.</p>
<p style="line-height: 170%;"><strong>Rep. Clyde letter to AG Bondi on DOJ interpretation of OBBBA Second Amendment provisions.</strong></p>
<p style="line-height: 170%;">– The National Firearms Act of 1934 (the primary federal law regarding firearms) imposed a $200 tax (equivalent to nearly $5,000 today) on the manufacture and transfer of certain firearms and established extensive registration requirements administered by the ATF.</p>
<p style="line-height: 170%;">– Section 70436 of the OBBBA eliminated the NFA’s making and transfer taxes for short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns, silencers, and firearms classified as “Any Other Weapon” (AOW) under the NFA.</p>
<p style="line-height: 170%;">– By setting the excise tax for these categories at $0, Congress effectively removed the taxing authority upon which the NFA’s registration and transfer provisions are constitutionally based.</p>
<p style="line-height: 170%;">– The letter urges DOJ to implement this provision and advance that position in all ongoing and future litigation involving $0-tax firearms.</p>
