Downing Statement on Passage of Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act

The bill would impose sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC) or any foreign actor who supports their effort to arrest, detain, or prosecute protected persons of the United States and its allies, including Prime Minister Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Gallant. “Israel has a right to defend herself without fear of prosecution,” said Congressman Downing . “Neither the United States nor Israel are members of the ICC. Allowing a global body that neither nation recognizes to go after our citizens unchecked will not be tolerated.
