Michigan House Deans Dingell, Walberg Joint Statement on Shooting of Charlie Kirk

Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (D-MI) and Congressman Tim Walberg (R-MI), respective deans of the Michigan House Democratic delegation and Republican delegation, released the following statement after the shooting of Charlie Kirk yesterday. "We’re horrified by the shooting of Charlie Kirk yesterday and deeply disturbed by the rise in political violence taking place across our country. Silencing voices through violence erodes our foundational principles. Instead, we must do more to protect every American’s freedom to have passionate disagreement, rigorous debate, free expression, and an open exchange of ideas without the threat of harm. All Americans must do their part to stop the escalation of violence."
