Congressman Tim Moore Announces $7.8 Million in EDA Funding for Hurricane Helene Recovery in Forest City

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Tim Moore (NC-14) announced $7.8 million in federal funding from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) for Hurricane Helene recovery in Forest City, North Carolina. This EDA investment is estimated to create 28 new jobs and generate over $9 million in private investment.
“While our communities in Western North Carolina have made significant progress since Hurricane Helene, there is still important work ahead,” said Congressman Moore. “This funding will help Forest City build the infrastructure necessary to support economic development and create new jobs. I appreciate President Trump and the EDA for supporting Western North Carolina’s recovery and helping our communities come back stronger.”
$7,798,480 will go to the Town of Forest City, North Carolina for the construction of a new electric substation to support economic development and resilience to address economic distress caused by Hurricane Helene.
