Hoeven: President Trump Signs Executive Orders to Unleash U.S. Energy Potential, Withdraw from Paris Climate Accords

WASHINGTON – Senator John Hoeven issued the following statement after President Donald Trump signed executive orders to bolster development of U.S. domestic energy resources and energy infrastructure, as well as withdraw the U.S. from the Paris Climate Accords. This aligns with Hoeven’s ongoing efforts to take the handcuffs off U.S. energy production, supporting the nation’s economic and national security, while bringing down inflation to benefit American households and businesses. Specifically, the executive orders:
“President Trump rightly recognizes the strength of American innovation, where we have proven, particularly in North Dakota, that you can produce more energy while maintaining the best environmental standards in the world,” said Senator Hoeven. “Instead of imposing costly rules, regulations and international agreements that put an unfair burden on the American people, we will work with the Trump administration to unleash U.S. energy potential, while using the latest, greatest technology to improve environmental stewardship. That’s the right course for our country.”
