Landsman Secures $1M for Cincinnati Police Cameras and Mental Health Resources

<p><strong>Cincinnati, OH –</strong>&nbsp;<em>Today, Congressman Greg Landsman (D-OH-01) announced the U.S House has passed a federal funding bill that includes $1 million for a local project to provide Cincinnati Police with new cameras and mental health resources.</em></p>

<p>The Cincinnati Police Department Camera Technology and Mental Health Response Team Project&nbsp;would deliver $1,039,000&nbsp;to enhance the Cincinnati Police Department and the Emergency Communication Center’s current camera technology by adding cameras and improving camera technology. This will help to stop criminal activity, assist with evidence collection, crowd monitoring, and traffic management. The project will also strengthen CPD and ECC’s Alternative Response to Crisis program by expanding mental health and medical response to crisis calls.</p>

<p>The federal government funding bill now must pass the Senate and be signed into law by President Trump.</p>

<p><strong>Background:</strong></p>

<p>Each year, the&nbsp;<a href="https://landsman.house.gov/community-project-funding-fy26">Community Project Funding</a>&nbsp;process allows members of Congress to accept applications for local projects in need of funding assistance, review those projects, and then submit up to 15 projects to the House Appropriations Committee for possible inclusion in the federal government budget.</p>
