Leader Jeffries Statement on the Reckless National Defense Authorization ACT

Today, Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries released the following statement: Donald Trump and House Republicans are putting their unpopular, far-right extremism ahead of the national security of the American people. They have abandoned a historically bipartisan legislative process, choosing to deny Floor debate on any substantive Democratic amendments and undermine the role of Congress as a check and balance on an out-of-control administration. Our men and women in uniform deserve better than a partisan National Defense Authorization Act that targets their healthcare and seeks to politicize the military. It is my expectation that the Republican NDAA will never see the light of day in the Senate. This bill is a complete abandonment of our values and the safety of our country. ###
