Gluesenkamp Perez Statement on House Passage of Defense Appropriations Bill

<p>Today, <a href="http://gluesenkampperez.house.gov/">Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (WA-03)</a> released the following statement after she voted with her bipartisan colleagues to pass the FY26 <em>Department of Defense Appropriations Act (</em><a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/4016"><em>H.R. 4016</em></a><em>)</em> last week:</p>

<p><em>“One of Congress’s most important responsibilities is supporting the brave men and women serving in our military and keeping them out of harm’s way.</em></p>

<p><em>I voted with my bipartisan colleagues to pass a bill that extends robust support for our Armed Forces, without any increases to our overall defense spending.</em></p>

<p><em>This legislation gives servicemembers a 3.8-percent raise, includes $40 billion for military healthcare, and provides $1 billion to fight drug trafficking, before these deadly substances reach our communities.</em></p>

<p><em>I look forward to the Senate continuing to improve this bill to ensure the service and sacrifice of our servicemembers is fully honored.”</em></p>
