Rep. Kevin Kiley, Education Committee, Launch Investigation into School Districts Over Reports of Antisemitic Harassment

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Kevin Kiley (R-CA) and Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Tim Walberg (R-MI) are launching an investigation into three school districts (Berkeley Unified School District, Fairfax County Public Schools, and the School District of Philadelphia) after receiving disturbing reports of Jewish students being harassed and subjected to open antisemitism in their classrooms and hallways.

“Reports of Jewish students being harassed in their own schools are deeply disturbing and absolutely unacceptable,” Rep. Kiley said. “Every student deserves to learn in an environment free from fear, hate, or intimidation. Our investigation will ensure that these districts are upholding their legal obligations and that no act of antisemitism is ignored or excused. We intend to get answers and hold accountable anyone who has failed these students.”

Last year, Congressman Kiley questioned the superintendent of Berkley during an Education & Workforce committee hearing. You can watch that video here.
