Crow Statement on the Appointment of Bill Pulte as Acting Director of National Intelligence
June 2, 2026 Press Release WASHINGTON — Congressman Jason Crow (D-CO), a former paratrooper and Army Ranger who serves on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, released the following statement in response to President Trump’s appointment of Bill Pulte as Acting Director of National Intelligence: “After the September 11th terrorist attacks, Congress created the Office of the Director of National Intelligence to better coordinate and improve efforts to keep Americans safe. “For two decades, Presidents of both parties appointed experienced intelligence and national security professionals to this important role. Donald Trump wants to fill this top job with a political loyalist with zero experience. Worse, Bill Pulte has already shown he is willing to weaponize the federal government against the President’s political opponents. “As President Trump wages a reckless and illegal war with Iran, threats to Americans and the homeland from our adversaries are real and remain high. It is dangerous, and frankly insane, to appoint such an unqualified and unserious person like Bill Pulte.” ### Issues : National Security
