State Senator César J. Blanco Hosts 5th Annual
Women Veterans’ Day Celebration
El Paso, Texas – Today, Senator César J. Blanco hosted his 5th Annual Women Veterans' Day
Celebration to recognize women veterans who have served our nation, the State of Texas, and
our local community through their dedicated military service. The celebration was a tribute to
their bravery, dedication, and sacrifice.
Senator Blanco honored three local women veterans for their outstanding service and lasting
impact on both our country and the El Paso community.
• United States Army Captain Dr. Patricia R. Herbias
• United States Army Command Sergeant Major Diane Williams
• United States Army Sergeant Bethany Ray
Senator Blanco issued the following statement:
"I was proud to honor our women veterans at our 5th Annual Women Veterans' Day Celebration.
Today’s celebration was about honoring the strength, resilience, and service of the incredible
women veterans who have given so much to our country and our communities. These women
have broken barriers, led with courage, and continue to make a difference long after their
military service.
“Historically, women veterans did not receive the recognition they deserve, which is why I
helped pass SB 805 during the 85th Legislature to establish June 12th as Texas Women Veterans'
Day. By creating this holiday, we can ensure women veterans receive the honor and recognition
they deserve.
“To all women veterans- we see you, we honor you, and we appreciate all the incredible work
you’ve done. Happy Women Veterans’ Day!”
