Schmitt to Introduce Amendment to SAVE America Act Following Through on Trump Priorities

U.S. SENATE —U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) today announced he will be introducing a substitute amendment to theSAVE America Actto include President Trump’s priorities to restore election integrity, keep men out of women’s sports, and protect children from gender mutilation surgeries.
“The American people want to see a return to common sense, and this week the Senate will vote on theSAVE America Actto deliver on this mandate. I’ve worked closely with President Trump and the White House to introduce a substitute amendment that will save our elections, save women’s sports, and save our children from gender mutilation surgeries. It’s time to get this done,”said Senator Schmitt.
Schmitt’s amendment includes provisions to:
·         Require all voters to show ID
·         Require proof of citizenship to vote
·         End mail-in balloting with exceptions for military, illness, travel, and disability
·         Keep men out of women’s sports
·         Protect children from transgender mutilation surgeries
