– Today, Senator Rick Scott joined state and local leaders and law enforcement in Miami for a hurricane preparedness press conference to urge Floridians to get prepared as the 2025 Hurricane Season begins June 1. Senator Scott kicked off his annual statewide tour yesterday in
Naples
and continued with a stop in Clearwater this afternoon. Throughout the tour, he is emphasizing the importance of having emergency kits and plans in place, stressing that
preparedness saves lives
. Senator Scott is committed to helping Florida families prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural disasters, and ensuring Floridians make a plan and take the necessary steps to stay safe ahead of this hurricane season.

said, “With the 2025 Hurricane Season just around the corner, I am traveling the state on my annual hurricane preparedness tour to urge families to get prepared NOW. Miami is iconic and a destination for families to live, visit, and enjoy all it has to offer, but along with its beautiful coasts comes the risk of storms, flooding, and high winds throughout hurricane season. No one should risk their life or their family by being unprepared. Now is the perfect time to stock up on disaster supplies; things like flashlights, batteries, first aid kits, radios, and other essentials. Floridians are resilient and we have great first responders and community leaders who stand ready to help families, but preparedness starts with YOU.
