March 3, 2025 Newsletters Dear Friend, February was a fast-paced, energetic, and productive month in Congress! From advancing key legislation to meeting with constituents and industry leaders, I’ve been working hard to deliver results for North Dakota. Every day, I’m reminded of the great responsibility and privilege of representing you in Washington, D.C. In this newsletter, you’ll find highlights from the past month, including legislative updates , community visits, and important issues I’m tackling. As always, Julie Image Last week, I proudly voted for the conservative House budget resolution , which will lay the foundation for President Trump’s America First policy agenda that will: Secure our border Unleash American energy production Help lower taxes Cut wasteful government spending Defenders—and beneficiaries—of big government have unleashed an onslaught of scare tactics and misinformation about what this budget resolution means for you. Please don’t be persuaded. North Dakotans sent me to Washington to help fix problems—to cut the debt, reform programs like Medicaid so it serves those in need long-term, and make government more efficient and accountable to our citizens. And that’s exactly what I am working to do. Our plan seeks to make life more affordable, more secure, and more prosperous for all Americans. To help advance President Trump’s energy dominance agenda, I am launching an AI & Energy Working Group to bring together legislators and industry leaders to establish a legislative framework to reliably, affordably, and sustainably power this growing technology. I’ll also work alongside National Energy Dominance Council Chair Doug Burgum to help our state seize this opportunity to provide the much-needed power to fuel the AI revolution. Image Spoke out against the fentanyl crisis on the House Floor and voted in favor of the HALT Fentanyl Act. Click here to read my full statement. Voted in favor of Agent Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act to crack down on high-speed chases along our southern border. Image Voted in favor of legislation to help Congress overturn multiple last-minute regulations issued by the Biden administration more quickly. Spoke out against the regulatory state on the House Floor . It’s time to put power back where it belongs—you, the American people! Voted to overturn burdensome regulations on gas-fired instantaneous water heaters. Image Image Co-sponsored and voted for H.R. 26 , the Protecting American Energy Production Act , to safeguard affordable, reliable, and environmentally sustainable energy production in the United States. Click here to read my full statement. Spoke on the House Floor in support of a resolution I co-sponsored to repeal President Biden’s punitive methane tax on petroleum and natural gas producers. Senator John Hoeven led the companion resolution in the Senate, and it now heads to the President’s desk for signature. Hosted a Special Order on the House Floor to sound the alarm on the rising threats to American energy reliability and offer five solutions to restore grid reliability. Image Image Loved being with familiar faces at the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC). I’m excited to work with them in my new capacity to make sure we use our abundant natural resources to reliably and affordably power America’s future. Joined Jason Grumet, CEO of American Clean Power, for a fireside chat to talk about increasing energy production to meet demand and secure our grid. The Dakotas are home to two Cabinet secretaries, two nominated assistant secretaries, and the Senate Majority leader. It was an honor to address my friends in the North Dakota Legislature to highlight pressing issues in Washington and how North Dakota can lead the way in solving them, including providing the much-needed power to fuel the AI revolution!
