REP. GRAY Secures OVER $16 Million in District Funding

February 5, 2026 Press Release WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Adam Gray has secured funding for 15 projects deemed essential to the San Joaquin Valley. The projects range from a Wellness Center in Gustine to improved radio systems for Modesto police officers to a water treatment facility in Dos Palos to better sidewalks in Caruthers. “Providing better sidewalks in Huron or making sure the bay doors open when they’re supposed to in a Modesto fire station might not seem like a big deal to people in LA or Miami, but in my district these projects have real impact on people’s lives,” said Gray, who was elected to Congress in 2024. In all, Gray secured funding for 15 projects spread across one of the largest Congressional districts in California. District 13 stretches 160 miles from southwestern Fresno County to Lathrop in the middle of San Joaquin. The total value of the projects exceeds $16 million. “This Congress has been one of the most contentious in living memory,” said Gray, who spent 10 years in the Assembly before being elected to the House of Representatives. “But people didn’t send us to Washington to argue about ballrooms or gold-plated picture frames. They sent me here to work, to get things done. Doing that work is the most important thing I do.” Projects submitted by Rep. Gray: Project Name : GUSD Wellness Center Community Facilities Recipient: Gustine Unified School District Project Description: This project will create a facility to house school-based mental health programs. Funds will be used for one-time costs with the significant majority used for acquisition of the portables and installation. Amount funded: $366,000. Project Name: Le Grand Athlone Water District and Chowchilla Water District Bidirectional Intertie Recipient: Chowchilla Water District Project Description: This project will bring new water to two water districts on certain years through the building of an intertie, enhancing the safety and reliability of drinking water and irrigation. Amount Funded: $1,000,000. Project Name: City of Modesto Police Enhanced Radio System Recipient: City of Modesto Project Description: This project will purchase new mobile (in-car) and portable (officer-carried) radios, along with necessary software, accessories, testing, and training. Amount Funded : $1,031,000. Project Name: City of Dos Palos Waste Water Treatment Facility Recipient: City of Dos Palos Project Description: This project will construct a new package treatment plant, which offers a reliable, easy-to-maintain, and long-term affordable solution to the wastewater treatment issues. Amount Funded: $1,092,000. Project Name: County Service Area 44 Sewer Treatment Project Recipient: City of Dos Palos Project Description: This project will consolidate two aging sewer treatment facilities serving County Service Area (CSA) 44 Zones E (Castello Estates) and G (Linne Estates) into a single, modern, and more efficient treatment plant. Requested: $1,000,000. Project Name: Mendota Community Center Recipient: City of Mendota Project Description: This project will develop a centralized, multi-purpose facility that serves all residents. Amount Funded: $2,000,000. Project Name: Biola Community Sidewalk Lighting Recipient: County of Fresno Project Description: This project will install lighting for new sidewalks in Biola. Amount Funded: $230,000. Project Name: Caruthers Complete Streets Project Recipient: County of Fresno Project Description: This project will enhance road conditions, sidewalks, and drainage in Caruthers, improving safety for pedestrians and drivers, facilitate access to essential destinations like work, school, and medical appointments, and encourage walking and cycling. Amount Funded: $250,000. Project Name: Madera County Courthouse Park Renovation Phase 3 Recipient: County of Madera Project Description: This project will enhance the Madera County Courthouse Park to provide recreational improvements, beautification, and sustainable benefits as well as to revitalize the downtown area of the City of Madera. Amount Funded: $250,000. Project Name: Huron Avenue Improvements Project Recipient: City of Huron Project Description: This project would be for pedestrian, roadway, and utility improvements in the City of Huron. Amount Funded: $850,000. Project Name: Childs and Canal Roadway Construction Recipient: City of Merced Project Description : This project will reconstruct 2,000 feet of roadway and add critical infrastructure such as sidewalks, bike paths, streetlights, pedestrian crossings, and ADA-compliant access ramps. This project will enhance transportation safety, improve stormwater drainage, support equitable access to essential services, and stimulate economic development in South Merced. Amount Funded: $850,000. Project Name: City of Modesto Fire Station #1 Rehabilitation Recipient: City of Modesto Project Description: This project will rehabilitate and improve Fire Station #1 for firefighter safety and readiness, as well as faster emergency response. Amount Funded: $850,000. Project Name: Bear Creek Infrastructure and Flood Protection Initiative Recipient: City of Merced Project Description: This project will construct and complete critical flood resiliency infrastructure and habitat restoration features along Bear Creek. Specifically, this project will enhance flood protection for critical public safety infrastructure and safeguard agricultural areas vital to the regional and national economy. Amount Funded: $3,150,000. Project Name: City of Madera Avenue 13 Sewer Rehabilitation, Phase III Recipient: City of Madera Project Description: This project will rehabilitate the final section of the Avenue 13 sewer-main that starts at the intersection of Avenue 13 and Granada Ave, to Highway 99. Amount Funded: $2,000,000. Project Name: Sodium Hydroxide Storage and Injection Facility Project Recipient: City of Coalinga Project Description: This project will construct a new sodium hydroxide storage and injection facility for pH adjustment of potable water, mitigating corrosion risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Amount Funded: $1,092,000. BACKGROUND: Under House Appropriations Committee guidelines, each Representative may request funding for up to 15 projects for fiscal year 2026. Projects are restricted to applicable federal funding streams and only state and local governments and eligible nonprofits are permitted to receive funding. Rep.
