Yakym Votes to Pass Farm Bill

Resources / Press Share on Yakym Votes to Pass Farm Bill Apr 30, 2026 Press WASHINGTON, D.C. –  Today, Congressman Rudy Yakym (IN-02) voted to pass the Farm Bill. “Agriculture is the backbone of Indiana’s economy, driving over $31 billion and supporting nearly 200,000 jobs across the Hoosier State,” Rep. Yakym said. “In Indiana’s Second District, our farmers and ranchers grow some of the best product in the world, and when they compete on a level playing field, our exports win every time. I have always believed Hoosiers know how to manage their land and crops better than Washington bureaucrats do, and I am committed to keeping it that way. This Farm Bill cuts red tape, supports our producers, and ensures America maintains an affordable and abundant food supply for generations to come.” HOOSIER WINS: Reauthorizes proven conservation programs that Indiana farmers rely on. Moves Food for Peace programs from the State Department to USDA, putting agricultural decisions in the hands of people who actually understand farming. Strengthens operating loan programs to help farmers afford the equipment and inputs they need to get the job done. Delivers real investments in rural Indiana, including high-speed broadband, infrastructure upgrades, and lower energy costs. Expands access to the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP), helping farms and rural businesses cut energy costs. Backs Indiana specialty crop producers, including blueberry growers, by requiring USDA’s Risk Management Agency to build a comprehensive pricing library for non-row crops. ### Share on
