The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded Hurricane Helene-related grants to the Commonwealth of Virginia. The funding breakdown of the grants is as follows: $1,369,318 to Smyth County $745,319 to Washington County $728,017 Grayson County These FEMA grants, worth $2,842,654, support repairment projects for local roads, road armoring, base, surfaces, culverts, road embankments, gabion stone, rip rap, shoulders and asphalt.
