Senator Kim Renews Calls to Fix Our Democracy by Overturning Citizens United

WASHINGTON D.C. –Today,Senator Andy Kimreleased the following statement on the 15thanniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s disastrous Citizens United v. FEC decision.
“The Citizens United decision has been disastrous for the American people,”said Senator Kim.“The last 15 years have seen the power of big corporations and special interests overtake the voices of working people. It’s driven us into a crisis of trust and confidence in our government. We can’t fully heal as a nation if our democracy only works for the well-off and well-connected. There’s a lot we need to do to fix our systems, overturning the Citizens United decision and restoring the primacy of the voices of the American people would be a good first step.”
