Rep. Ami Bera Announces New Staff Hires for the 119th Congress

Today, U.S. Representative Ami Bera, M.D. (CA-06) announced two key additions to his congressional team:
Asha Samuel as Senior Health Policy Advisor: Asha previously served as Legislative Director for Congressman Earl Blumenauer, a senior Member of the House Ways and Means Committee, where she covered health and other issues of jurisdiction. Prior to joining the office in 2021, Asha was a Legislative Assistant with Congressman Chris Pappas. She earned her MPH in Health Policy from George Washington University and her B.S. in Health Science from Stony Brook University.
Rachel Tochterman as Communications Director: Rachel previously served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Communications Director for former Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg. She is a public affairs and communications strategist with expertise in California politics and policy. She holds a Juris Doctorate of Law (J.D.) with a Capital Lawyering Concentration from the McGeorge School of Law.
