Readout: Ranking Member Kamlager-Dove Meets with President Berdimuhamedow of Turkmenistan During C5 + 1 Summit
November 5, 2025 Press Release WASHINGTON, D.C. — As Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on South and Central Asia, Congresswoman Sydney Kamlager-Dove (CA-37) met with President Berdimuhamedow of Turkmenistan during the C5 + 1 Summit. Rep. Kamlager-Dove and President Berdimuhamedow discussed repealing the Jackson-Vanik amendment, the Trump Administration's arbitrary restrictions on Turkmenistan’s student, exchange, and visitor visas, and the need to improve conditions for Afghan women and girls. They also discussed the important educational and cultural exchange programs between the two countries. Rep.
