Miller-Meeks Delivers Nearly $3 Million for Lee County Health Projects

December 10, 2025 Press Release LEE COUNTY, IA — Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01) announced the successful delivery of nearly $3 million in Community Project Funding for major healthcare investments across Lee County. “As a physician, I know access to local, reliable care is life-saving, especially in rural communities,” said Dr. Miller-Meeks . “That’s why I fought to secure these funds, and I’m proud to see them delivering results.” The funding includes: $2.1 million for EMS Bay Improvements, giving Lee County’s Health Department its first independent base of operations in over 30 years. Support for the newly opened Mellar Family Health Center, expanding public health capacity and emergency response services. $825,000 to support efforts to reopen Keokuk Hospital, ensuring long-term access to inpatient care in the region. These projects were made possible through Community Project Funding and mark one of the most significant healthcare infrastructure investments in Lee County in decades.
