Senator Banks Praises President Trump’s Budget for Indianapolis VA HospitalFriday, April 3, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Senator Jim Banks (R-Ind.), a member of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee and an Afghanistan veteran, released the following statement praising President Trump’s Fiscal Year 2027 budget which includes $1.98 billion to build a new VA Medical Center in Indianapolis with an 840,000 square-foot bed tower to fulfill acute care requirements, multi-specialty clinic, primary care, and utility infrastructure: Sen. Banks: “This is a big win for Indianapolis. I was proud to lead the fight for this funding as a member of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee and am grateful for President Trump and Secretary Collins’ support of our Hoosier veterans.” Link to budget here. Senator Banks asked secretary Collins for a commitment on funding this project at his confirmation hearing in January of last year. ###
