Whitehouse Statement on President Trump Pulling the Nomination of Ed Martin to Serve as D.C. U.S. Attorney

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Courts Subcommittee, today released the following statement on President Donald Trump’s announcement that he will pull the nomination of Ed Martin to serve as U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, and will try to find another role for Martin in his administration: “Ed Martin is a notorious MAGA hack who so obviously fails in prosecutorial experience, temperament, integrity, and basic judgment.  He is glaringly unqualified to serve as an U.S. Attorney, and has no business representing the interests of the American people in any role in the Justice Department or the Trump administration.”
