Rep. Moore Votes Yes on Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act

January 14, 2025 Press Release Washington, D.C. – Today, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 28 , the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act . Representative Riley M. Moore was an original co-sponsor of this bill, which clarifies that sex is based solely on biology. Additionally, the bill makes it a violation of Title IX for schools that receive federal funding to allow a male to participate in athletic programs designated for women or girls. Congressman Riley M. Moore released the following statement: “I was proud to be an original co-sponsor of this bill, because as the father of two girls, I know protecting women’s sports is a critical step in the larger fight against radical transgender ideology. “It’s simple, men shouldn’t be playing in women’s sports, just like they shouldn’t be invading women’s private spaces such as locker rooms and bathrooms. We already passed this commonsense legislation in West Virginia, and it’s time we get this done for the women and girls across the nation.” Earlier today, Congressman Moore joined House GOP leadership at their weekly press conference to discuss this bill.
