Congresswoman Ross Statement on Trump’s Tariff Flip Flop

Today, Congresswoman Deborah Ross (NC-02) released the following statement after President Trump announced a 90 day pause on his disastrous tariffs: “After implementing the largest tax hike on working Americans in history, and single-handedly imploding trillions of dollars in savings for Americans across the country, President Trump has abruptly decided to pause some of his disastrous tariffs. “While targeted tariffs can be a useful tool, it’s obvious that Trump’s chaotic so-called ‘strategy’ is harming all Americans. To be clear, the 10 percent baseline tariff that remains in place will continue to raise prices for consumers and hurt North Carolina families. It’s time for Republicans in Congress to stop giving Trump a free pass as he threatens to upend the global economy and start standing up for the American people.”
