Griffith Announces $128,000 DOT Public Safety Grant to Rocky Mount
The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) has awarded the Town of Rocky Mount, Virginia, a $128,000 grant. The funding supports a Comprehensive Study Action Plan to improve road and pedestrian safety in Rocky Mount. U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) issued the following statement: “Ninth District local communities benefit from improved access to public safety initiatives. “This DOT grant for $128,000 helps Rocky Mount pursue public safety measures in a major area of Franklin County.” BACKGROUND This grant money was made available through the DOT Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant program. This Action Plan will support formation of a task force, local public engagement and annual progress reviews. ###
