Simpson’s Water Resource Bill Passes in the Senate

DENVER
– Today,
Senate Bill 23-010
, passed unanimously in the Senate.
The legislation, championed by
Senator Cleave Simspon (R - Alamosa)
, will move water issues to the forefront of the policy conversation in Colorado, by allowing for more frequent meetings of the
Water Resources & Agriculture Review Committee
, which is largely responsible for tackling Colorado’s water issues.
Colorado Republicans are leading the effort to responsibly manage Colorado’s water
amidst one the worst droughts
the state has ever experienced.
“Water is the lifeblood of our state. The General Assembly has the responsibility to ensure today’s water needs are being met, and tomorrow’s water needs are accounted for,” Senator Simpson said. “By eliminating arbitrary limitations on the Water Resources and Agriculture Committee, we can better address and solve the water problems we face in Colorado.”
The Bill is due to be considered in the Colorado House of Representatives in the coming weeks.
