Senator McConnell Meets With General Brown

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, issued the following statement today on his meeting with General C.Q. Brown, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff:
“I was glad to meet today with General C.Q. Brown, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. We had a frank and productive conversation about growing threats to America’s global interests.
“I appreciated General Brown’s laser-focus on building and sustaining a force capable of deterring and defeating our most dangerous adversaries, and his candid insights into what the military services and our defense industrial base must do to address these growing challenges.
“I look forward to working with General Brown and the incoming Administration’s senior leaders at the Pentagon to restore America’s hard power.”
