Senator Hassan Honors POW/MIA Servicemembers in Meredith

MEREDITH – Last week, U.S. Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH), a member of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, joined the 38th Annual Northeast POW/MIA Network Vigil and freedom ride in Meredith. The vigil honored the more than 81,000 Americans – including 316 Granite Staters – who are listed as Prisoners of War (POW), Missing in Action (MIA), or otherwise unaccounted for from our country’s past wars and conflicts. “Sadly, too often during our country’s history, the courage and valor of POW/MIA servicemembers has not been fully appreciated,” said Senator Hassan. “With this vigil, we declare with one clear voice that no POW/MIA servicemember will be forgotten. Our country will always fight to bring our missing servicemembers home and never fail to honor the sacrifice of those who were captured or missing while keeping America safe, secure, and free.” Senator Hassan joins veterans and servicemembers at the 38th Annual POW/MIA Network Vigil in Meredith Senator Hassan has worked to honor America’s POW/MIA servicemembers, including by backing the Bring Our Heroes Home Act to make it easier for families to access the records they need to help recover their missing or unaccounted for loved ones. She also led the successful bipartisan push to return the POW/MIA flag above the White House. ###
