Water Infrastructure and Flood Protection
North Dakota is fortunate to have abundant water resources, and it’s essential that every community in our state has access to a reliable and affordable water supply. With careful management, these resources can unlock significant economic and recreational opportunities for both residents and visitors. Well-designed and effectively managed flood protection infrastructure can safeguard the lives, livelihoods, and properties of North Dakotans statewide.
From my position on the Energy and Water Development Subcommittee of the Senate Appropriations Committee, I am working to enhance and strengthen our state’s water infrastructure, with a particular focus on flood protection projects to ensure the safety and prosperity of North Dakota communities. That includes advancing critical efforts like the Fargo-Moorhead Diversion and flood protection in Minot, as well as expanding water access through the ENDAWS initiative. I continue working to secure federal support and cut through red tape to keep these projects moving forward.
