From cost-raising tariffs to cuts to Medicaid and SNAP, Donald Trump’s policies have made costs go up for hardworking families – squeezing their budgets even more and forcing them to make tough decisions. According to the report, the spike in prices extends to nearly every basic expense: Rent and mortgage payments are up $369 on average for Nevada families since Trump took office. Americans paid $310 more for groceries in Trump’s first year in office than in 2024. The average price of ground beef has risen to a record high of nearly $7 per pound, and coffee beans are nearly $10 per pound. The average Nevada family has spent $360 more on gas since the beginning of Trump’s war in Iran and the resulting closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Thanks to Trump and Congressional Republicans’ refusal to extend the cost-lowering Affordable Care Act (ACA) enhanced premium tax credits, monthly premiums for Nevada Health Link plans rose over 50% on average, and deductibles increased by more than $1,000 on average. “Donald Trump ran for president promising to deliver Nevadans financial relief that they desperately needed, and it’s clear he lied. He’s had more than 500 days to follow through, but instead, his reckless disregard for hardworking families’ pocketbooks is pushing Americans’ budgets to a breaking point,” said Senator Rosen. “Donald Trump needs to stop dreaming about his gold-plated ballroom and taxpayer-funded slush fund to pay out January 6 rioters who beat up police officers, and wake up to the cost-of-living crisis Nevadans are facing. I’ll keep pushing to reverse Trump’s cost-raising tariffs and work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to find commonsense solutions that will bring down prices for families.” Senator Rosen has been a leader in the Senate fighting to stand up against Trump’s reckless economic policies that have led to higher prices for hardworking families. She recently introduced a series of bills to reallocate funding from Trump’s $1.8 billion slush fund to fund SNAP, Medicaid, and critical public safety programs, such as the COPS Hiring Program and the Public Safety Officers Benefits Program. Earlier this year, the Senator announced she would file amendments to the Republican budget bill to redirect the proposed $1 billion that Republicans wanted to waste on Trump’s ballroom toward crucial law enforcement and public safety programs. Senator Rosen has introduced bills to block tariffs on groceries and housing construction materials , and voted repeatedly to repeal Trump’s tariffs on Brazil and Canada . ### Facebook-f Instagram Youtube Flickr Contact Email Jacky Request a Meeting Office Locations Newsletter Signup Privacy Policy Contact Email Jacky Request a Meeting Office Locations Newsletter Signup Privacy Policy For Nevadans Constituent Services Help With a Federal Agency Flag Requests Tour Requests Internships Senate Page Nominations Academy Nominations For Nevadans Constituent Services Help With a Federal Agency Flag Requests Tour Requests Internships Senate Page Nominations Academy Nominations Resource Guides Veterans Resource Guide Senior Resource Guide Small Business Pocket Guide Federal Funding Grant Requests Appropriations Requests Community Project Funding Resource Guides Veterans Resource Guide Senior Resource Guide Small Business Pocket Guide Federal Funding Grant Requests Appropriations Requests Community Project Funding About Jacky Biography Committees Voting Record Legislation News Press Releases In the News Videos About Jacky Biography Committe
